What time is it? It’s High School Musical reunion time, as former cast-mates and real-life besties Ashley Tisdale (the fabulous Sharpay Evans) and Vanessa Hudgens (the brainy Gabriella Montez) got together recently to perform their first ever duet!
It’s been nine years since the Wildcats graduated from high school, but that doesn’t mean they called it quits on the relationships they developed while redefining teamwork and delivering perfectly choreographed dance routines for the beloved Disney trilogy.
If you need proof, look no further than Vanessa Hudgens and Ashley Tisdale, who, although they played frenemies in the film, are actual BFFs. The pair kicked off 2017 by hosting a mini High School Musical reunion on Tisdale’s YouTube account.
“You guys wanted one very special guest, so I brought her in; my best friend Vanessa Hudgens,” Tisdale said to introduce her bestie as the partner for her latest Music Sessions (a series of musical covers that Tisdale performs with special guests).
“We did not have a song in High School Musical, just the two of us. We always wanted one,” Tisdale said as Hudgens nodded in agreement.
They decided to rectify that horrifying mistake by putting their spin on Elle King’s rocking “Ex’s & Oh’s.” It’s safe to say the performance was worth the wait!
Tisdale’s husband Chris French composed the track’s stripped-back arrangement and provided instrumental backing. Their take on Elle King’s track delivered fantastic vocals from the pair.
It showcased how much they’ve grown since their musical debut, and they easily soared and flew (see what we did there?!) through the gorgeous performance!

Late last year Ashley Tisdale launched Music Sessions. She kicked things off with a performance of Paramore’s “Still Into You” with her hubby Chris French.
It’s nice to see that although they’re busy with projects that Tisdale and Hudgens manage to make time for one another! It’s clear that their Wildcat bond will last forever!
Now if only we could get ALL the High School Musical alums together for a performance of “We’re All In This Together.” Until then, suffice to say that we’ll have this on REPEAT!
