What to do when you’re into a guy, and you slept with his best friend?
“Okay, so my very jewish mother asked me to signed up for a Jswipe account, because she “should be a grandma by now.” Anyway, I met this kid there, and Jswipe even boosted our profiles to each other, because they thought we were a perfect match. We started talking and realized we had a lot in common, including our taste in people. Turns out, I slept with his roommate last year. Even worse? Both the roommate and my new crush picked me up from my apartment on the way to theirs that night. He was even in the apartment while his roommate and I had fun. Anyway, now he is ghosting me. I sent a “hi” to see how his week was going and got no answer. What should I do? I am very attracted and I felt he could be the one I would date, but the fact that I slept with his roommate and very close friend (MORE THAN A YEAR AGO) makes things awkward.” – Or
@CrazyJewishMom: Well, DUH! Yes, it’s awkward, you’ve sampled his best friend’s manmeat!
@KateFriedmanSiegel: I do see how it could be a little uncomfortable, but I think it’s very annoying that he’s just ghosting you. You’re adults. He could man up and tell you how he feels. Plus, it’s such a double standard.
@CrazyJewishMom: What to do now? I think you should tell him how you feel! Enough with the wishy washy ‘how’s your week going’ crap. Just say: “look, let’s cut to the chase. I had a little fling with your friend a year ago. Who cares! It’s a small world. I think you’re great, and I think we should get together.” And if he doesn’t want to? HIS LOSS!
@KateFriedmanSiegel: I disagree. I think it’s a lost cause and reaching out again is a waste of time. Does it suck that it’s a double standard? Yeah. If you were a guy, it might even be considered sexy and mysterious that you had this past fling. But women are supposed to be virgins who happen to be great at sex but don’t enjoy it TOO much. Insert digital eye roll. And this guy clearly cannot handle an empowered woman if he’s threatened by this. I honestly think you should move on to someone better.
@CrazyJewishMom: That might be true. There are plenty of sperminators in the sea.
