This Saturday, March 24, people from all over will take part in the #MarchForOurLives to protest the lack of gun control and the inadequate responses to mass shootings. Taking the lead from the courageous students of Stoneman Douglas, where 17 of their classmates were gunned down, protestors are set to descend upon Washington D.C. to fight for a safer future for not just students and teachers, but for everyone. With over 800 planned sibling marches worldwide in cities such as NYC and Boston and even across the ocean in Madrid, Munich, and Rome, it’s not too late to find a march near you.
Of course, while just showing up and supporting the cause is amazing, a protest is not complete without a few posters. For some inspiration, we gathered examples from this past week’s #NationalSchoolWalkout protest, where students all over the United States walked out of their classrooms to honor the victims of the Parkland shooting and to call attention to gun control. Not only are these students (and their teachers!) an inspiration to all generations, but their posters are poignant and bad-ass too. From using popular memes to pleading with the “grown-ups” to do something before they are all old enough to vote them out of office, these kids did not come to play.
