In this week’s #WhatTheHellHappened, we caught up with Susannah, who wrote in a few years ago about her sh*t-talking ex. On top of telling everyone that Susannah was still hung up on him, he texted her brother almost everyday — which I definitely found a bit weird. Overall, my mom and I both agreed that indifference is the best revenge, and my mom even made the observation that Susannah might not be totally over her ex just yet. She also suggested that burning down his house might be very cleansing.
So, #WhatTheHellHappened? Here’s a refresher on Susannah’s original story, and an update from her below!
“Went to have some drinks with some guy friends my ex (“Mr.X”) and I have in common, and then one of them tells me that in a dinner at Mr.X’s house, my name came up in a conversation, then he started talking about how I was not over him and how he felt more chemistry with my brother than with me. 2 months ago, we broke up on friendly terms (supposedly), and I have just interacted with him because of work stuff very shortly 3 times via text. Nevertheless, he keeps texting my brother stupid memes every day, now is dating a “tinder girl” (after he used to say that it was a useless app) and telling my friends ‘that I need to move on and get over him.’ I would very much appreciate your opinion on his behaviour.” – Susannah
So, #WhatTheHellHappened to her?
Hey there! I absolutely forgot about this… Well, the guy is a very distant memory, so it really made me laugh when I read your email and the link to the article.
Your mom’s input at the time was a hard pill to swallow, however I just loved it. Once I acknowledged my own feelings, the guy just faded into the background. At the end of the day…life just got better from there. Putting the unnecessary drama behind and letting my loved ones know my feelings about the whole situation made it so much easier to deal with…indifference truly works best.
Thanks for the follow up!
